Hello and welcome to the University of Queensland Beach Volleyball Club!

We are a social club devoted to good times, good people and, of course, beach volleyball. We play every Tuesday and Thursday at the UQ beach courts from 5pm till 7pm. Anyone, irrespective of skill level, is welcome and encouraged to come and check out the club and what we’re about. We will have a stall at UQ market day - in the Main Sports Hall in the UQ Gym Complex on the Wednesday of O Week - where you can sign up to our mailing list and get more information about our activities and shenanigans.

Membership will set you back $50 (per semester) and this includes all of your court time during club hours and insurance etc. Our social advisor Uncle Rod will be organising a meet and greet in the coming days and we will keep you posted on that.

Hi Guys…

We are going to have a social fours tournament at the UQ Beach courts on Saturday the 31st of March. It would be great to see as many of you there to make this an awesome day.

The way we normally go about things is to get everyone down at the courts at 8am. We will then organise people into teams of equal quality, with a mix of skilled players and beginners in each team. Depending on numbers, we will have 2-4 pools of four teams and each team will be guaranteed three games. (However, we might change to a two losses and you’re out system if it appears that time is going to be an issue) . There will be a final and much love and happiness for all.

The best part is that the beach volleyball is merely a distraction from drinking and eating. We will be having a BBQ lunch (let us know if you’re vegetarian), with a keg or two of beer and some jungle punch… Feel free to bring your own passion pop or spirits.

We will be doing a costing in the next days, and will get back to you with a price shortly. However, it will most likely be around the $20 mark for everything.  IT would be great to get an idea of numbers so we can start preparing food etc, so we’ll likely be pestering you at the courts on Thursday to sign up!

Hi and welcome to the University of Queensland Beach Volleyball Club. If you are interested in playing beach volleyball either socially or competitively then we are the club for you. Players of all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to come down to the courts for a free try-and-see.

We will have a tent at the Semester 2 Market day on the 25th of July so swing by and come and have a chat to us about playing. For more information about the club, click on the link in the right hand toolbar or email us on uqbeach(at)gmail(dot)com.

Membership is $50 for the semester and is worth every cent. We hold social tournaments and social functions every semester and organise a weekend trip to Byron bay for the club. Check out some of the earlier posts for stories and photos.

Hopefully you all know that UQBVC is having a welcome party at the Regatta tonight! We will be upstairs from 8pm and we are willing to bet Gally’s left testicle that you’ll have a great time.  Please keep in mind that the Regatta has a dress code after 8pm - boys no shorts, thongs or Budgie smugglers!! Meanwhile, we are still playing beach today! We will be setting up around 4:30 and might finish a little bit earlier than usual so people can get dolled up for tonight.

For those who are under 18, we will be organising a weekend do at the courts in the near future, so keep your ears open.
